Farkhunda Muhtaj, captain of the Afghanistan Women’s National Football Team, is the first player signed to Calgary Wild FC. Born in Afghanistan and raised in Canada, she is a proud advocate for inclusion and community, using soccer as a platform for positive change.

Off the field, Farkhunda has co-founded the Scarborough Simbas to support refugee settlement and established Ayenda FC, the unofficial Afghan Youth National Football Team. Her efforts have earned global recognition from organizations like FC Barcelona and the UNHCR.

As a midfielder and community ambassador, Farkhunda is committed to inspiring the next generation and promoting diversity through the beautiful game.
